Granola
Preheat oven to 350
INGREDIENTS
Mix all dried ingredients in large bowl:
6 cups oatmeal
2 cups coconut
3/4 cup sesame seeds
1 1/2 cups of mixed nuts
3/4 cups sunflower seeds
1 1/2 tsp salt
also dried fuit, add as desired:
raisins, figs, apricots, cranberries
whatever you like
Mix the wet ingredients in a small saucepan:
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup oil
2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
Heat and stir on the stove, just to boiling point, when it is thoroughly
combined. Pour over dry ingredients and mix until the oatmeal
mixture is consistently sticky. Decant into two greased 13×9 baking
pans. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Stir and bake a bit more until
golden brown, usually about 10 minutes more. Take out of oven.
For extra healthy and fiber-filled granola add 1 cup of wheat germ
at this point; it sticks to the granola and is undetectable as a healthy
addition!
Let cool completely before putting it in a storage container.
