Cucumber Sandwiches

INGREDIENTS
I package Pepperidge Farm white sandwich bread
I package Pepperidge Farm whole wheat sandwich bread
Cucumbers
Mayonnaise
Softened butter
Salt
Pepper
Peel cucumbers, then cut them in half lengthwise. Using the tip
of a teaspoon, remove the seeds. Slice the cucumbers as thinly as
possible.
For each sandwich, use one slice white bread and one of whole
wheat. Butter one piece of bread lavishly with butter. Spread the
other generously with mayonnaise. Add the thin slices of cucumber.
Sprinkle generously with salt and pepper. Trim off the crusts
and cut into quarters.
Serve the sandwiches with cups of dark Assam tea.
