Pear Tart

1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons butter
1 large egg or (2 small)
1 teaspoon almond extract
2 or 3 sliced pears (peeled)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons sugar
sliced almonds
greased 9” pie plate – Oven temperature 350 degrees F.
Sift dry ingredients, cut in butter, add egg and almond extract and
mix. Spread thick dough into pie plate (works best to line pie plate
with waxed paper). Place pear slices into dough. Sprinkle with cinnamon
sugar mixture and almonds. Bake about 1 hour but check
after 45 minutes. Remove paper and cool on rack.
