The Boston Printmakers Traveling Flat File (TFF) 2019 – 2020

Deadline: January 15, 2019

To answer a question often-asked: “Who are the Boston Printmakers?” This collection of members’ works will inform the viewing public with prints! The Boston Printmakers Traveling Flat File will present the best in contemporary and traditional printmaking, from members across North America. Over the two year span, it will enable us to reach many collectors, curators, artists and students with signature works that represent who we are!

The TFF will be shown at multiple venues over the period of two years, so please select a work with this in mind. Works will be for sale, although the venue will be fairs and conferences, so please select and price works that will sell readily.  Each member will be asked to contribute a single 2D print for sale, unframed, unmatted, and shipped in a reusable tube, (no diptych and triptych is allowed).  Initially the TFF will be presented at both SGC International 2019 & 2020—exhibition dates will be announced and posted on our website.   All prints must be for sale. No commission will be charged on sales. Members dues must be in good standing.

Specifications
You may select “a representative work” from any period in your career, and on a flexible, single sheet of paper sized 22″ x 30” or smaller. All works will be placed in sleeves, handled and securely shipped in large tubes by members of the board. They will be displayed on tables or at booths and carefully handled. Works should be priced to sell, ideally $500 or less. Please do not send works priced over $1,000. The venues are likely to have “walk-away sales” and all proceeds will go to you, the artist. However, you may select to participate in a start-up fund for young artist programing, an initiative The Boston Printmakers will begin in 2019 with a Forum for Young Artists at Framingham State University at the next Student Show. Please check the box on the entry form for sale proceeds to be donated to a fund to benefit young printmakers.
