THE BOSTON PRINTMAKERS

Renee Covalucci, Vice President of the Board brought a representative group of Boston Printmakers to meet our counterparts in China, last summer, 2005. Professor Zhang Minjie, Department of Printmaking, China Academy of Art, Hangzhou, served as host and coordinator for the international exchange. He is director of the Hebei Province Print Association, member of the board of the China Print Association, and member of the Chinese National Art Association. Zhang is one of China’s leading professional artists in woodblock printing and painting. The Boston Printmakers traveled with Huajing Xiu Maske, Ph.D., Oxford University. As co-leaders, she and Renee Covalucci provided the contextual, historical, and cultural information throughout the four-province, five-city travel itinerary.
